Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Excavation Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining heavy, motorized equipment used in earth moving operations. This is a non-exempt, seasonal position that requires a strong commitment to safety and a willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain heavy, motorized equipment used in earth moving operations.
  • Excavate soil and other material from job sites into trucks for transportation to appropriate locations.
  • Use hand-held mobile radio units to coordinate tasks and resources.
  • Read and comply with safety plans, rules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Perform additional assignments and special projects as directed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of heavy equipment operation/maintenance experience (Operator 1), 5+ years (Operator 2), or 2+ years (Operator 3).
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to drive on behalf of company business.
  • Preferred safety training includes 40 Hour HAZWOPER, Competent Person Safety Training, 8-Hour Supervisory Training, 30-Hour OSHA Construction Safety Training, First Aid and CPR.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of operational characteristics of heavy, power-driven equipment.
  • Maintenance requirements of heavy, power-driven equipment.
  • Methods and materials used in general construction and maintenance work.
  • Principles and techniques of field maintenance activities.
  • Traffic laws, ordinances, and rules involved in heavy equipment operation.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a job site environment, including machines, tools, heavy equipment, chemicals, solvents, dust, fumes, noise, and extreme weather conditions.
