Position Summary

The Sous Chef plays a vital role in our culinary team, supporting the Dining Supervisor in various capacities. This position involves:

  • Training and mentoring new kitchen staff, addressing inquiries, and resolving challenges presented by team members.
  • Conducting quality assurance checks on all prepared dishes; sampling menu items to ensure they meet our high standards for presentation, flavor, texture, and temperature. Proactively implementing necessary adjustments to enhance production, plating, and presentation by fellow kitchen staff.
  • Preparing designated quantities of menu items as outlined in production schedules, adhering strictly to recipes. Collaborating with the Dining Supervisor to ensure all culinary outputs meet established standards and are synchronized for meal service.
  • Assisting in menu development, procurement, inventory management, planning for special events, catering services, and other operational responsibilities.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

  • A minimum of two years of experience in a Sous Chef role or a similar leadership position within a kitchen environment.
