Veterinary Receptionist

The Veterinary Receptionist is a key member of our team, providing exceptional client service and support to our veterinarians, technicians, and other staff. This role requires a friendly and professional demeanor, with a strong ability to multitask and handle stressful situations.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, computer literacy, and the ability to handle payment and financial issues. They will also be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Greet clients and pets by name, providing a positive and solution-oriented attitude.
• Answer phones promptly and professionally, using a multi-line phone system to route calls to appropriate staff.
• Schedule appointments and surgeries, making confirmation calls as needed.
• Enter accurate charges, explain invoices to clients, and collect payment for services rendered.
• Verify client eligibility for charge accounts and check medical records for accuracy.
• Fill prescriptions, provide routine administration instructions, and advise clients on retail items.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated commitment to our core values.
• Computer knowledge, including keyboarding and use of communication tools.
• Working knowledge of veterinary terminology.
• Excellent spelling and grammar skills.
• Ability to handle varied and sometimes difficult conditions, with tact and respect for clients and team members.
