Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a key member of our interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide high-quality, cost-effective care to patients within your scope of practice in collaboration with a supervising physician.

Responsibilities
  • Clinical: Obtain relevant health and medical history, perform thorough physical assessments, review and interpret diagnostic tests/results, develop treatment plans, and prescribe/order evidence-based pharmacological agents.
  • Education: Educate clients and/or families regarding medical conditions, treatment, and follow-up, collaborate with clinicians and staff to promote continuity and patient-centered care, and develop educational materials.
  • Leadership: Provide instruction to physicians, house staff, nursing, and students, participate in community/network outreach programs, and develop/lead community/network outreach programs.
  • Professional: Interact with patients and families in a respectful, courteous, and timely fashion, interact collaboratively with coworkers and other team members, and respond quickly to meet customer needs and resolve problems.
  • Quality/Research: Engage in daily continuous quality improvement, consult with management, lead interdisciplinary teams, and develop new clinical programs or services to improve patient care.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited graduate-level Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) program.
  • Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider (i.e., Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner, Certified Nurse Midwife, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) in the state of North Carolina.
  • Board certification if required by the Department.
  • DEA.
