Opportunity Overview

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven physician to lead our Antimicrobial Stewardship program at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and direction for our infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship programs, ensuring the highest level of quality and safety for our patients.

  • Develop and implement infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship strategies and initiatives to improve healthcare outcomes and promote patient safety.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify and resolve antimicrobial barriers to efficient hospitalization and discharge.
  • Monitor and analyze data related to healthcare-associated infections and antibiotic use to identify areas for improvement and develop targeted interventions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship and provide guidance and education to healthcare staff.

Requirements:

  • Medical Doctorate or Doctor of Osteopathy degree required along with appropriate board certification and qualifications.
  • Three years of experience in an acute care setting.
  • Leadership style and characteristics necessary to effectively perform in this role include strong work ethic, results-oriented, persuasive, motivational, able to make rational decisions in difficult situations, inspirational, honorable, confident, systems-thinker, innovative, life-long learner, courageous, high-energy, integrity, collaborator, ability to work with teams, good listening, nonvolatile, values multiple disciplines, and passionate about continuously improving and providing high quality care and service excellence to patients, families, employees, physicians, and hospital quality improvement.
  • Must be an Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) member or apply for IDSA membership after employment.
