Production Technician II

Ecolab, a global leader in premium cleaning, sanitizing, and maintenance products and services, is seeking a Production Technician II to join their team in Swannanoa, NC. This role offers a competitive salary of $21.00 per hour with opportunities for overtime.
- The ideal candidate will have 4 years of experience in a plant or warehouse setting and a high school diploma or equivalent. They will be able to lift and carry 50 pounds and pass a drug screen.
Job Description: As a Production Technician II, you will be responsible for operating, filling, and packaging equipment, including filler, sleeve labeler, cappers, tape machine, bar coders, ink jet printer, hand wrenches, hand stamps, palletizers, and lid presses. You will ensure the correct packaging materials and Personal Protective Equipment are available and follow safety procedures. You will also participate in Kaizens, 5S, and special projects, identify opportunities for system and process waste elimination, and complete and document activities that measure quality and productivity.
Responsibilities:
- Review filling and packaging instructions at the beginning of line runs and ensure the correct packaging materials are available.
- Ensure the line is set up correctly per the filling and packaging instructions.
- Operate filling and packaging equipment continually, adjusting equipment to control weight, closures, or other specifications as required.
- Take samples and keep the area clean.
- Actively participate in Kaizens, 5S, and special projects.
- Continuously identify opportunities for system and process waste elimination.
- Complete and document activities that measure quality and productivity in an accurate and timely manner.
- Complete packaging and filling assignments meeting or exceeding standards.
- Assist with line changeover, including the collection of wash water.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to complete training and master skills required by the position, including Hazardous Material Safety and DOT training.
- Ability to understand and track safety, quality, and productivity data, including run rates, fill weights, and averages.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Experience with Total Production Management (TPM) and Continuous Improvement Systems.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work as part of a team.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen.
