Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified RN Manager Med Surg to join our team at Alaska Regional Hospital. As a key member of our nursing leadership team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and leading a team of dedicated nurses.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Nursing Unit Director in planning, implementing, and assessing the daily functions of Nursing Care and Services provided in the unit on all shifts.
  • Provide supervisory support and management to all unit employees, ensuring adequate coverage and accurate time records.
  • Support hospital-wide initiatives and foster positive relationships between Med-Surg and all other departments.
  • Facilitate effective communication with all hospital staff, medical staff, patients, and families by providing and maintaining open lines of communication.
  • Promote and support a collaborative team atmosphere, ensuring staff compliance to corporate, division, and hospital policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or enrolled in a program within 12 months.
  • RN license from the State of Alaska.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
  • A minimum of three years of direct nursing experience in Medical Surgical.
  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills.
  • Strong clinical skills in the performance of Medical Surgical level nursing care.
  • Strong leadership skills and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work creatively within a team environment.
  • Initiative and creativity in proposing and implementing projects and initiatives.
  • Ability to integrate duties with other department programs to maximize impact and create efficiencies.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data, identifying trends, relationships, and proposing solutions.
