Senior Residence Counselor

Salary Range: $19.70 to $22.85/hr
Greater Mental Health of New York is a leading provider of mental health services in the Lower Hudson Valley region. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Residence Counselor- ASL to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide supervision and support to adults recovering from mental illness.
- Fill-in for the Program Supervisor in their absence.
- Assist in the supervision of residence counselors.
- Assist with staff meetings and case conferences.
- Comply with program practices and procedures.
- Attend meetings or events as directed.
- Maintain an effective working relationship with other community agencies, organizations, groups, and/or individuals.
- Order inventory and supplies.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all documentation.
- Completion of Greater Mental Health or state-sponsored In-Service Training Programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
- BA/BS Degree in Human Services or related field with 1 year experience as a Residence Counselor in a comparable program or AA degree in Human Services or related field with 3 years' experience as above or High School Diploma with 5 years related experience.
- Experience in Deaf Culture required.
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL).
- Experience working with diverse populations recovering from mental illness preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Word.
- Valid Driver's license.
- Must obtain and maintain Defensive Driver Certification within 30 days of hire.
- Must maintain pre-employment clearances by applicable regulatory clearances as required.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Salary Range: $19.70 to $22.85/hr, based on departmental budget, qualifications, experience, education, and licenses.
- Flexible Work Arrangements: Subject to business needs, including hybrid options.
- Paid Time Off: 25 days of PTO, 12 sick days, and 11 company-paid holidays per year (prorated for part-time staff).
