Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electro-Mechanical Design Checker to join our team at Raytheon Technologies. As a key member of our Mission Systems team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of our mechanical engineering drawings and documents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform document checking functions to ensure compliance with design documentation standards and procedures.
  • Examine engineering drawings and models for soundness, efficiency, and simplicity in design.
  • Review form, fit, completeness, and consistency of dimensioning of drawings.
  • Recommends changes to ensure compliance with standards, procedures, and specifications.
  • Perform tolerance stack up analysis in support of form and fit of components to assembly.
  • Confer with engineering to resolve drawing and design discrepancies.
  • Provide training to improve overall drafting quality and consistency.
  • Review material requirements for standardization and conformance to industry specification manuals.
Requirements
  • Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Computer Aided Design (CAD) modeling and drafting familiarity (NX, Creo, I-Deas, Solid Works, etc.).
  • Proficiency with ASME Y14.5M Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and understanding of ASME Y14.100 Engineering Drawing Practices.
  • Proven capability to execute requirements of drawing and model checking.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including structures, mechanisms, materials, and analysis.
  • Familiar with mechanical hardware manufacturing processes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active Secret or Top Secret Security Clearance Preferred on Day 1.
  • Understanding and familiarity of Collins Aerospace drafting standards as defined in the Product Definition Instruction and ASME Y14.41 Digital Product Definition Data Practices.
  • NX experience.
  • Solidworks experience.
  • Understanding and familiarity of the Collins Aerospace Product Definition Instructions.
  • Understanding and familiarity with Collins Aerospace release levels.
  • Enterprise Product Data Management (EPDM) experience.
