Grill Cook Job Description

At CAVA, we're passionate about serving up more than just great food - we're dedicated to creating an exceptional experience for every guest who walks through our doors. As a Grill Cook, you'll play a key role in helping us achieve this goal by preparing top-quality food in our open kitchens.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure food safety, sanitation, and quality procedures are followed at all times
  • Prepare and cook food to the highest standards, following recipes and procedures to maintain consistency and quality
  • Adhere to safety and sanitation procedures, as well as all CAVA standards
  • Restock cook stations and maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Stand and/or walk for an entire shift, constantly moving to deliver great food to our guests
  • Put deliveries away and assist with any additional duties assigned
  • Cross-train across the restaurant to ensure rapid growth and adaptability
  • May be required to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to bend and reach overhead frequently
  • Must possess dexterity to handle tongs, pots/pans, and other equipment
  • Must be comfortable working in temperatures ranging from hot to cold
  • Must be comfortable working near open flames
  • May be required to work in tight spaces
  • Must maintain near-constant communication with multiple people
  • Close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision are required
  • Must be able to sit, squat, and kneel occasionally
  • Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
  • May be required to work in outdoor weather conditions
