We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Circulating Nurse to join our team at Providence Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the operating room, providing exceptional patient care, and maintaining a safe and sterile environment.
Responsibilities- Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures, including setting up surgical trays and ensuring the cleanliness of the environment.
- Assist in preparing patients for surgery, verifying their identity and surgical site, and helping to position them on the operating table.
- Document pertinent information before, during, and after surgical procedures, including patient vital signs, medications administered, and other relevant details for the patient's medical record.
- Act as a liaison between the operating room staff and other areas of the hospital, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
- Maintain a safe and sterile environment in the operating room, adhering to strict infection control protocols and ensuring that all team members follow proper procedures for handling instruments and equipment.
- Provide exceptional post-operative care, assisting with transferring patients to the recovery area, ensuring their condition is stable, and providing necessary post-operative instructions or support.
- Current and valid state RN license.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN) preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
