Department Summary: The Underwater and Acoustic Systems Department in MITRE Labs is at the forefront of BlueTech innovation, developing advanced technologies to tackle complex issues from national security to climate change.

Job Description: We are seeking a Senior Underwater Sensors Engineer to contribute to research, modeling, prototyping, and testing in areas like acoustic sensing, oceanography, and climate science. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership and versatility in various project domains.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct advanced acoustic and climate modeling
  • Develop sophisticated signal processing algorithms
  • Design and engineer advanced transducer and sensor systems
  • Prototype and test sensors and communication platforms
  • Collaborate on underwater vehicle development

Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
  • BS, MS, or PhD in relevant fields
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in analytical tools like MATLAB or Python
  • On-site presence required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance
  • Expertise in signal processing and prototype development
  • Experience in field testing maritime devices
  • Strong networking skills
  • Familiarity with US government systems
  • Established network of government contacts

Compensation and Benefits: We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 - $180,000 (Annual) and a comprehensive benefits package.
