Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our TeleSAFE team. As a TeleSAFE RN, you will provide comprehensive, clinically competent, and prompt service to hospitals and patients in need of sexual assault forensic exams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical services to victims/survivors of sexual assault, including conducting forensic exams and providing support and guidance to patients and families.
  • Work in an on-call capacity, responding to hospital calls and providing remote support and guidance as needed.
  • Collaborate with hospital partners to provide training and support on sexual assault forensic exams and protocols.
  • Participate in ongoing quality improvement and evaluation processes to ensure the highest level of care and service.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions and exams.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Advanced Practice Nursing degree with active NY State licensure.
  • Completion of Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner training (40 hours) at a recognized SAFE program.
  • Three (3) years of experience or more as a SAFE Provider, with a minimum of 50 cases completed independently.
  • DOH Certification (NYSAFE); IAFN certification preferred, but not required.
  • Up-to-date knowledge on exam best practices, including testing and post-exposure prophylaxis.
  • Awareness of and compliance with HIPAA at all times.
