Job Summary

The After School Counselor will provide support and guidance to a group of students in a dynamic and engaging after school program. This role requires a strong ability to supervise and teach students, while maintaining a safe and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise students and ensure their safety and engagement in activities
  • Maintain attendance, incident reports, and behavioral and academic records for students
  • Teach literacy, STEM, arts, and recreation classes based on curriculum outlines
  • Implement discipline policies and procedures in a timely manner
  • Comply with safety and security procedures, including drills and safety checks
  • Communicate with students, staff, and parents/guardians in a respectful manner

Requirements

  • TB test or chest x-ray with insignificant results
  • Physical clearance to work with children
  • Fingerprinting and background check
  • Must provide three references
  • 18 years of age; some college coursework completed (2 years preferred)
  • Minimum one year prior experience working with children of varied ages and abilities, including special needs
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
