Position: Nutrition Specialist

Overview

Mille Lacs Health System is in search of a dedicated Nutrition Specialist to deliver expert consultation, training, and mentorship to our staff, healthcare providers, patients, and residents. This role collaborates closely with the department Manager to uphold regulatory compliance in both acute care and long-term care environments. Effective communication with patients, families, medical personnel, and team members is essential in this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversees and approves meal planning for specialized dietary needs
  • Supports and monitors the preparation of food services
  • Engages with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient care
  • Conducts nutritional evaluations and develops care plans for residents
  • Applies knowledge in diverse nutrition fields to provide informed recommendations
  • Integrates IDDSI principles into food service practices and trains staff accordingly

Essential Qualifications

  • Certification in Food Safety
  • 1-3 years of experience in Food Service
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
  • Registered Dietitian credential
  • Active licensure in the state of Minnesota
