Tax Manager

Doeren Mayhew, a leading public accounting and advisory firm, is seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our Grand Rapids, MI office. As a Tax Manager, you will specialize in estate, gift, trust, and high net worth individual taxation, working closely with clients, legal professionals, and taxing authorities to resolve complex tax-related issues.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and review estate tax returns, state estate or inheritance returns, and federal and state fiduciary income tax returns in compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with clients, attorneys, and internal teams to resolve tax-related issues and administration matters.
- Analyze and interpret trust documents and wills, developing expertise in tax implications of document language.
- Meet time constraints and client deadlines while delivering high-quality work.
- Develop strong client relationships and participate in firm training courses to enhance technical skills.
- Provide exceptional client service through quality work, timely delivery, and attentive support.
- Contribute to tax research related to trust and estate laws and assist in developing new processes to streamline services.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
- A minimum of 5 years of recent public accounting experience or related experience.
- CPA License or Enrolled Agent status preferred.
- Juris Doctor a plus.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge in trust and estate tax returns.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to perform multiple engagements and meet deadlines.
- Team player with strong independent work skills.
