Position Overview:
We are currently seeking skilled Steel Fitters for both 1st and 2nd shifts to join our heavy fabrication team. As a Steel Fitter, you will play a crucial role in the layout and assembly of metal components to create structural steel frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Layout, fit, and weld fabricated, cast, and forged components to construct structural forms.
2. Assemble metal parts to produce finished sheet and structural metal projects.
3. Utilize tools such as jacks, pry bars, hammers, saws, welding equipment, torches, and grinders.
4. Operate handheld torches and plasma cutters.
5. Position, fit, and align tack parts accurately.
6. Interpret weld blueprints and measure workpieces according to specifications.
7. Operate overhead cranes and jib cranes as needed.
8. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
- Ability to use a tape measure and convert measurements into decimals.
- Must follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
- Regular attendance is essential.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
