General Maintenance Specialist

Amentum is seeking a skilled General Maintenance Technician to join our operations and maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing intermediate-level expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and performing emergency and preventive maintenance and repairs on building equipment, fixtures, and systems in a commercial campus environment.
Key Responsibilities- Safety and Compliance: Safely perform functions of the position, including following proper safety guidelines, such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures, and wearing personal protective equipment as required.
- Equipment Maintenance: Operate, maintain, and repair all facility and production-associated equipment in compliance with all company regulations and standards.
- Troubleshooting and Repair: Analyze equipment failures, inspect, replace, alter, and maintain in good repair all building and related equipment.
- Planned Maintenance: Perform planned maintenance on all building equipment and related services for specific areas while being sensitive and responsive to customer needs.
- Trouble-Shooting Techniques: Perform trouble-shooting techniques on mechanical equipment, such as HVAC, pumps, agitators, hydraulic systems, RO/DI purified water systems, compressed air, and other gas equipment and distribution systems to determine problems and effect repairs as promptly and efficiently as possible to minimize downtime.
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance inspections.
- Inventory Management: Develop and implement planned maintenance procedures, perform job estimates, maintain spare parts inventory, and keep stock persons informed as to parts consumed from inventory.
- Installation and Inspection: Assist in installing, inspecting new equipment, and servicing installations.
- Customer Support: Provide support to co-workers, contractors, vendors, project managers, building managers, and engineers as necessary to support project and renovation work.
- Regulatory Compliance: Comply with all governmental, company, and industrial regulations, codes, and standards, health safety practices, and permit systems.
- Communication: Respond and provide service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Process Improvement: Recommend measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
- Equipment Operation: Operate various measuring, diagnostic, and testing instruments to help provide energy efficiency solutions.
- Adaptability: Maintain a strict schedule to be successful in the assignment while demonstrating flexibility in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.
- Education: High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
- Experience: Three years of maintenance experience in one of the following trades or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience: Industrial HVAC/Industrial Mechanical Machine Repair, or Automotive Repair.
- Physical Abilities: Ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.
- Security Clearance: This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
- Pre-Employment Testing: Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
- Driver's License: This position may require a valid Driver's License.
- Security Access: This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client's location.
- Work Schedule: This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
