We are seeking a skilled Recreational Therapist to join our team at UNC Health Appalachian. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will design and implement activity therapies to promote effective interactions, enhance coping skills, and foster independence in caring for oneself.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized activity plans to meet the unique needs of patients
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care and support
- Provide education and training to patients and families on therapeutic activities and techniques
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify patient needs and goals
- Document patient progress and outcomes in a timely and accurate manner
- Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy or related field
- One year of experience in a behavioral health setting preferred
- Licensed by the North Carolina Board of Recreational Therapy Licensure
- Certification by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification
