Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Coordinator to join our team at Actalent. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for coordinating surgical procedures and ensuring seamless communication between physicians, patients, and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate surgical procedures, including scheduling operating room dates and times, and arranging for necessary equipment and personnel.
  • Communicate with patients and physicians to ensure accurate and timely information exchange.
  • Obtain necessary insurance authorizations and precertifications.
  • Provide pre-operative testing information to patients and obtain test results as needed.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure effective care coordination.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of surgery scheduling experience.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, procedures, and diagnosis.
  • Knowledge of coding and ability to look up codes specific to diagnosis and procedures.
