Job Title: Filler Operator

Lassonde Pappas & Co., Inc. is a leading beverage manufacturer dedicated to delivering exceptional products and services to our customers. We are seeking a highly skilled Filler Operator to join our team in Sparta, Michigan.

Job Summary

The Filler Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining the filler and support equipment, ensuring product quality and safety, and performing product and package changeovers. This role requires strong analytical and decision-making skills, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate the filler and support equipment to optimize production-line run time
  • Monitor the flow of bottles from the depalletizing area and clear bottle jams
  • Retrieve bottle caps from the storage area and fill the cap hopper
  • Monitor and adjust the speed of the bottle filler to ensure proper workflow to the rest of the production line
  • Perform minor adjustments on equipment to ensure smooth operation of the production line
  • Complete packaging changeovers on the filler, rinser, and depal by adjusting rails, swapping out change parts, and adjusting the timing
  • Perform required product quality control tests, including sampling product at the beginning of the run to ensure conformance to standards
  • Maintain a clean work area and document wash processes as they are performed
  • Monitor pasteurizer and fill-tank temperature charts, product flow rates, and fill-tank levels, and adjust temperatures and/or product flow as needed to ensure conformance to specifications and established standards
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Six months of experience in a manufacturing environment operating production equipment
  • Analytical and decision-making skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to direct, coach, and train others
Working Conditions

This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a production setting. The employee will be exposed to wet and humid conditions and fluctuations in ambient temperature. The employee will also be required to wear a dust mask and perform Confined Entry using the LOTO program.
