Job Summary

The Electrical Foreman is responsible for overseeing the construction and maintenance of power lines, poles, and auxiliary facilities for the distribution of electricity. This is a working foreman position, requiring the ability to direct a team of workers, ensure sufficient labor and materials, and complete planned work as scheduled.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain distribution systems, including conduits, cables, wires, transformers, circuit breakers, and switches.
  • Inspect and test power lines and auxiliary equipment to locate and identify problems.
  • String wire conductors and cables between poles, towers, trenches, pylons, and buildings.
  • Test voltage to ensure correct connections are made.
  • Lay underground cable directly in trenches or string the cable through conduit running through the trenches.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Candidates must have completed a 15-week Electrical Lineman program.
  • Proficient in safe rubber glove techniques.
  • Knowledge of electric utility construction standards, National Electric Safety Code, and VOSHA/OSHA standards.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • CDL class A license preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.
  • Must possess the coordination and manual dexterity necessary to climb poles, operate hand and power tools, and equipment utilized in the upkeep, repair, and maintenance tasks.
Work Environment

The Electrical Foreman will work in various locations, including multiple sites, and will be required to ride in a vehicle up to four hours to travel to and from job sites.
