Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated Personal Care Assistant to support special needs students in a high school environment. This role is essential in providing both behavioral and academic assistance, ensuring that students receive the best possible educational experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in implementing tailored educational programs for students with special needs, as directed by their case manager or behaviorist.
  • Support students with personal care tasks, including feeding, toileting, and monitoring health conditions.
  • Provide instructional support to individuals or small groups in various skill areas, such as cognitive development and self-help skills.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of physically challenged students by being vigilant of their surroundings and actions.
  • Help maintain hygiene standards by assisting students with personal cleanliness and changing clothing as necessary.
  • Monitor student behavior in line with established guidelines and assist in fostering positive interactions.
  • Collaborate with teachers and specialists to facilitate physical development activities.
  • Prepare students for inclusion in mainstream classes following established protocols.
  • Participate in ongoing training related to medical interventions and educational programs.
  • Assist students with mobility aids and orthopedic devices as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior.
  • Implement positive behavior support strategies effectively.
  • Work cooperatively with educational staff and independently when necessary.
  • Perform additional related duties as needed.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Preferred experience in special education or behavioral health settings.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
