Nursing Resident I Job Description

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Nursing Resident I to join our team. As a Nursing Resident I, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the growth and development of our nursing team.

Responsibilities:
  • Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.
  • Implements and monitors patient care plans, ensuring effective and timely care.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate, collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care.
  • Evaluates, updates, and revises plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes.
  • Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care, ensuring a patient-centered approach.
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing protocol, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
  • Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team, ensuring a smooth transition to post-acute care.
  • Assesses educational needs of the patient and significant others, considering cultural issues and other special concerns, and provides teaching and educational material as appropriate.
  • Validates and documents patient and family understanding of teaching, ensuring effective communication and education.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study, staying current with best practices and evidence-based care.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing, with a BSN preferred.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) must be presented upon hire.
  • Additional certifications may be required based on unit or department specific needs.
