Join Our Team as an Open Rank Academic Investigator in Ophthalmology

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our team as an Open Rank Academic Investigator in Ophthalmology at the University of Virginia. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to our research efforts to reduce vision-threatening eye disease and develop new concepts in understanding the mechanisms of ocular disease.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support research efforts to reduce vision-threatening eye disease
  • Develop new concepts in understanding the mechanisms of ocular disease
  • Independently carry out experiments
  • Contribute to the mission for vision science
  • Serve as a resource and mentor for the research group
  • Participate in the education and training of research fellows, laboratory staff, and medical students
Qualifications:

Qualified candidates must have an MD or equivalent by appointment start date.
