We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Gastroenterology practice at Thayer Center for Health. The ideal candidate will provide specialized care for patients with digestive system disorders, assist with procedures, and ensure comprehensive patient education and support.


About the Role:



  • The successful candidate will coordinate and provide patient care, including phone triage, sharing results with patients, capsule endoscopies, reviewing referrals to determine procedure sedation, and obtaining appropriate cardiac/anticoagulation clearances.
  • This is a dynamic position that requires strong clinical decision-making skills and the ability to work independently.
  • The role involves administering medications, performing various medical procedures, and providing emotional support to patients and their families.

What You'll Do:



  • Develop and implement individualized patient care plans to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
  • Evaluate the learning needs of patients and/or family members and provide education on disease management, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
  • Triage phone calls from patients/caregivers, provide advice, referrals, and patient education as needed, and determine the necessity and type of care required.
  • Perform administrative tasks to coordinate patient care, including data collection, scheduling tests/procedures, and communicating with healthcare providers.

Requirements:



  • Maine RN licensure or ability to obtain same in a timely fashion (active)
  • At least 1 year of RN experience (strongly preferred)
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Able to work independently, effectively manage time, and prioritize multiple responsibilities
  • Proven critical thinking skills

Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
