About the Role

Fabricate high-quality metal parts by operating complex mechanical equipment. Utilize blueprints and design sketches to ensure precision dimensions and tolerance levels of finished products in accordance with Sundyne's manufacturing operations policies and procedures.

  • Set up and operate CNC machines to precision tolerances from blueprints and sketches.
  • Maintain accurate process documentation and records.
  • Primary work will be on a CNC Grinder, with opportunities to work on other machines.
  • Design and create tooling and gauging to complete assignments.
  • Repair hardware or machine components per written or verbal instructions and perform precision machining operations to highest quality standards.
  • Work with a broad range of materials, including stainless steel, hardened steel, and exotic materials.
  • Perform inspections of products using precision equipment, such as micrometers, dial indicators, and surface plates.
  • Utilize safe working habits and maintain a clean and organized work area to minimize unsafe conditions.
  • Strive to maintain high personal productivity levels and perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to meet customer demands and manage workload of the department.
  • Able to learn and apply new information and concepts within the technical area.
  • Perform complex technical assignments requiring analysis of multiple factors.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to lower-level technicians.
  • Identify problems and suggest solutions to improve processes and products.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of experience in machining and manufacturing.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree or Technical Certification a plus.
  • Specialized certification, such as COP (Certified Operation Program), required.
  • Strong mechanical ability and machine expertise.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Working knowledge of shop trigonometry and CNC machining.
  • Cross-trained on multiple machines.

Compensation

Hourly rate: $27.00 - $30.00, with opportunities for annual bonuses and relocation assistance.
