Key Responsibilities
  • Design Leadership: Direct the design team in the application of structural concepts, practices, and procedures to ensure effective and efficient design solutions.
  • Analysis and Calculation: Prepare and review structural analysis finite element models and calculation reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Model Review and Coordination: Review and coordinate structural 3D models with other disciplines to ensure seamless integration and effective communication.
  • Performance Evaluation: Evaluate building and structural system performances, including vibrations, drifts, accelerations, deflections, and load carrying capacities.
  • Document Preparation: Prepare construction documents and ensure design coordination with other disciplines.
  • Code Compliance: Review engineering documents and specifications to ensure compliance with industry codes and standards.
  • Investigation and Assessment: Assess existing structures, determine causes of structural failures, and provide reports detailing investigations and assessment of damages.
  • Construction Administration: Attend project meetings, review structural-related submittals, respond to structural-related RFIs, and review structural-related change orders.
  • Site Visits and Inspections: Perform site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
  • Project Management: Responsible for maintaining project schedules and achieving all project deadlines and milestones within the project budget.
Qualifications
  • Education: Master's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Licensure: Florida P.E. License desired.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of commonly used construction materials, extensive knowledge of standard and local construction practices, and national and state design codes and design standards.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in structural design software such as Risa Floor, Risa-3D & Risa Foundation, ETABS, Adapt Builder, Adapt PT/RC, and Wood Works Design Suite.
  • Experience: 5+ years of design and engineering experience.
