Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Childbirth Educator to join our team as a Clinical Development Specialist. This role will be responsible for the ongoing delivery of educational programs and activities, as well as participating in the assessment, planning/development, evaluation, and revision of educational activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development and Delivery
    • Design, implement, and evaluate educational programs to meet the identified needs of staff, patients, and families.
    • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to promote positive communication techniques for problem resolution and goal achievement.
  • Clinical Resource and Support
    • Provide clinical expertise and support to patient care providers and other healthcare professionals within the hospital and community.
    • Participate in performance improvement activities to support departmental goals.
  • Education and Training
    • Develop and deliver educational offerings that incorporate evidence-based practice, instructional technology, and adult learning theory.
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the efficient delivery of educational programs.
  • Leadership and Collaboration
    • Exhibit leadership abilities, including collaborative, consultative, and coaching skills.
    • Participate in research activities and evidence-based practice projects.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited school of nursing.
    • Master's degree preferred in a health or education field.
  • Experience
    • Four years of clinical experience.
    • Education experience preferred.
  • Certifications and Licenses
    • RN - Registered Nurse - Texas State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure within 60 days.
    • BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA).
    • Magnet - ANCC Recognized Certification in an applicable specialty area within 6 months.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Certifications
    • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA).
    • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (AHA).
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job.
    • Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members, and co-workers.
Work Environment

This role will be based in a hospital setting and may require travel within the Houston Metropolitan area.
