Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled mechanic to join our team. As a mechanic at ODOT, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and service on cars, trucks, and equipment. You will also assist higher-level mechanics with complex repairs, maintain records of repairs and maintenance, and provide service and repair of vehicles and equipment on an emergency basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and service on vehicles, including checks on fluid levels, batteries, and tires
  • Assist higher-level mechanics with complex repairs, including engine tuning and brake system inspections
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance, including daily time sheets and parts orders
  • Provide emergency service and repair of vehicles and equipment
  • Operate welding equipment to repair equipment and tools
  • Clean and maintain garage areas, equipment, and tools
  • Operate motor vehicles to transport equipment, materials, and supplies
