Our Machinery and Equipment Specialties department is looking for a field engineer to conduct machinery and equipment boiler inspections. This role can be filled by either a trainee or an experienced field engineer.
Positions serving territories away from our headquarters are fully remote.
Starting Pay: The salary range for this position is $63,000 - $105,000 annually, determined by the applicant's education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.
Be ready to:
  • maintain jurisdictional boiler and pressure vessel certificate inspections for your territory
  • efficiently manage the territory for which you are responsible
  • educate agents on marketing machinery and equipment to their clients
  • serve as a professional resource to our insurance agents in retaining business and enhancing their marketing efforts
  • provide a high level of claims service to our local independent insurance agents
Qualifications: Be equipped with:
  • strong time management skills
  • excellent interpersonal communication abilities
  • the capacity to respond professionally under pressure to resolve issues effectively
  • the ability to work independently without close supervision
  • the skill to interact and collaborate well with various departments within our company
  • the capability to prepare meaningful and precise reports
Field engineer trainees should also be equipped with:
  • an engineering or technically-based bachelor's degree or relevant boiler and pressure vessel work experience
  • the ability to work independently to achieve objectives
  • strong customer service skills
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • strong interpersonal skills
  • proficient problem-solving, negotiation, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and related software
  • a willingness to travel regularly within the territory to meet job demands
  • a valid driver's license
Experienced field engineers should also be equipped with:
  • experience with machinery and equipment within a property and casualty insurance company (preferred)
  • a strong understanding of machinery and equipment, equipment breakdown coverages, relevant business lines, regulations, and consensus standards (preferred)
  • a bachelor's degree relevant to the position responsibilities or related experience and training
  • a national board commission or the qualifications to acquire it promptly
  • strong consultative, organizational, and presentation skills
  • a demonstrated commitment to continuing education
  • a valid driver's license
