Job Overview

We are seeking skilled Occupational Therapists to join our team in Belen, New Mexico. As an Occupational Therapist with Ambercare, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients and make a meaningful difference in their lives.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing occupation therapy services to patients according to a written physician's plan of care, as defined in the state Occupational Therapy Practice Act.
  • Developing treatment programs and establishing goals for improved function, communicating plans of care to referring physicians and other professionals as needed.
  • Teaching new skills or retraining patients in once familiar daily activities that have been lost due to illness or injury, in accordance with our policy.
  • Fabricating splints and instructing patients in the use of various types of adaptive equipment to improve function.
  • Training patients in the use of prosthetic and/or orthotic devices.
  • Maintaining appropriate clinical records, clinical notes, and reports to physicians any changes in patients' conditions, submitting these records in accordance with our policy.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A graduate degree from an occupational therapy curriculum accredited jointly by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • Registration with the National Registration Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • At least two years of clinical experience as an occupational therapist (preferred).
  • Reliable transportation, a current driver's license, and appropriate automobile insurance.
  • Current CPR certification.

Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $ 95,000 per year, depending on experience.
