Call Schedule:
24-hour on-call; Friday evening to Monday morning

Patient Demographics:
Primarily Nursery (80%), Newborns & Pediatric Patients

Admissions:
Approximately 2 per day

Essential Procedures:
  • High-risk deliveries, circumcision, lumbar puncture, and chest tube insertion; performing 2 C-sections weekly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Attend C-sections; provide admission and care for both sick and healthy newborns, perform circumcisions, and manage pediatric patient admissions.
  • Inpatient Pediatric care without ICU responsibilities.

Pediatric Bed Capacity:
10 beds

Nursery Classification:
Level II

  • EMR System: Cerner & PowerChart for order management.
  • Travel, accommodation, and malpractice insurance will be provided.

Qualifications:
  • Active Iowa Medical License or IMLC.
  • Board Certified in Pediatrics (ABMS or AOA).
  • Certifications: BLS, NRP, PALS.
