We are seeking an experienced Hemodialysis Nurse Specialist to join our team in this critical role. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the delivery of safe and effective hemodialysis therapy.

Job Summary

The Hemodialysis Nurse Specialist will be accountable for the provision and coordination of clinically competent care for assigned patients. This includes assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation, as well as delegation of tasks to direct patient care staff. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will also have experience working with patients with chronic kidney disease, including those requiring hemodialysis treatment. A strong understanding of dialysis equipment, medications, and treatment protocols is essential, as is the ability to troubleshoot technical issues and resolve conflicts.

Responsibilities
  • Provides high-quality patient care, adhering to Fresenius Medical Care's standards of nursing practice, state and federal regulations.
  • Assesses, plans, intervenes, and evaluates patient care, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless transitions.
  • Delegates tasks effectively to direct patient care staff, including RNs, LPNs/LVNs, and Patient Care Technicians.
  • Administers medications as prescribed or in accordance with approved algorithms, documenting medical justification and effectiveness.
  • Initiates emergency response measures as needed.
  • Serves as a resource for healthcare teams, participates in staff training, and assists with orientation of new staff.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A current appropriate state license as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • At least 9 months of experience as a RN, with a minimum of 3 months in chronic/acute hemodialysis.
  • CPR BLS Certification.
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
