Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Store Baker to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a Store Baker, you will be responsible for preparing and baking products that meet our high quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Product Preparation: Measure, mix, and prepare raw materials according to company specifications and recipes.
  • Baking and Quality Control: Form, cut, mold, shape, and bake dough to ensure it meets our quality standards.
  • Temperature and Humidity Control: Monitor cooking completion times and set heat and humidity temperatures for proof box.
  • Sanitation and Safety: Ensure temp, sweep, and sanitation logs are completed, and maintain a clean and sanitary working environment.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, address customer needs in a timely and effective manner, and model suggestive selling techniques.
  • Inventory Management: Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
  • Compliance and Training: Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices, and attend required trainings and meetings.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: 6-12 months retail experience.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stand/walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day, and work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
  • Skills and Abilities: Thorough product knowledge, working knowledge and application of all merchandising expectations within the department, basic math skills for recipe conversions and modifications, and ability to use point of sale electronic systems.
Working Conditions
  • Exposure to Temperatures: Exposure to temperatures: 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Exposure to Chemicals: Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
  • Work Schedule: Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
