Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist to join our team at Specialty RX. As a key member of our pharmacy operations team, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality pharmaceutical services to our long-term care facilities and assisted living communities.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness, ensuring the right medication, dosage, and administration for our patients.
  • Ensure accurate dispensing and labeling of medications, maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Make recommendations for therapy changes to physicians and facility staff, as needed, to optimize patient care.
  • Maintain accurate customer databases, including medical history, clinical, and laboratory data.
  • Investigate and resolve medication-related queries, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare team members regarding medication-related queries.
  • Supervise the preparation of medications, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of controlled substances for legal and stock control purposes.
  • Ensure proper security conditions for medications, adhering to industry standards.
  • Perform on-call duties as required, providing 24/7 support to our facilities.
Qualifications
  • Licensed Pharmacist in the State of Alabama.
  • Long-term care experience preferred, but not required.
  • Previous experience in hospital and retail pharmacy or other medical fields.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Computer skills, including framework/ECM software knowledge a plus.
