We are seeking a skilled Radiation Oncology Nurse to join our team at Northern Arizona Healthcare. As a Radiation Oncology Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our Radiation Oncology department.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Care
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer chemotherapy and other medications as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patients' responses to treatment and report any changes or concerns to physicians.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families on cancer treatment and management.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Compliance and Safety
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Report any safety incidents or near misses to management.
- Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Arizona RN license.
- BLS (American Heart Association) certification.
- ACLS certification within 90 days of hire.
- ONS certifications/education pertinent to clinical field of employment.
- Minimum 1 year experience in oncology nursing.
- Minimum 3 years of acute care nursing experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of radiation oncology principles and practices.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
