Role Objective:
The primary goal of this role is to effectively organize and oversee laboratory operations, manage testing resources, and ensure that laboratory activities are executed in alignment with operational requirements.
Responsibilities include managing the availability of inspection and testing equipment following necessary maintenance, verification, and calibration procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize laboratory resources and personnel to guarantee efficient execution of lab activities.
- Document laboratory organization, outlining the scope of internal and external activities (tests/calibrations, etc.).
- Collaborate with quality engineers to ensure the timely reception and acceptance of testing equipment.
- Supervise documentation processes and maintain up-to-date records.
- Develop an annual calibration schedule for all inspection and testing equipment.
- Conduct calibration and testing activities under laboratory supervision.
- Coordinate necessary laboratory activities, including material testing for trials.
- Maintain current documentation for control and testing equipment.
- Oversee acceptance procedures for equipment during production life following calibration and maintenance.
- Organize external laboratory testing and calibration as required.
- Monitor monthly laboratory performance indicators and implement corrective actions for any discrepancies.
- Manage and adhere to the laboratory budget related to these activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in a laboratory management capacity, ideally within the automotive sector.
- In-depth knowledge of laboratory protocols, quality standards, and testing methodologies.
- Proven experience in the calibration, maintenance, and verification of laboratory instruments.
