As a Special Needs Educator at Uncommon Schools, you will be dedicated to empowering students with special needs to reach their full potential. This role involves working closely with families and educators to develop and implement individualized instruction plans that cater to each student's unique needs. Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with families and Special Education teams to develop 504 and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that offer appropriate accommodations and modifications.
• Teach an inclusive curriculum that emphasizes diversity and empowers students to become self-guided learners.
• Create a safe and inclusive learning environment where students feel seen, loved, and heard.

Required Experience: A demonstrated interest in impacting K-12 students in urban schools and communities (1-2 years experience preferred). Academic expertise in Special Education, the Humanities, Social Sciences, STEM, or related fields of study. Prior to the start of employment, you must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Certification is not required to be hired at Uncommon, but you do need to meet NY state certification eligibility requirements.
