Job Title: Investigator IV

Join our team of dedicated professionals at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services as an Investigator IV. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting investigations of Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation (ANE) and injuries involving residents of the State Supported Living Center (SSLC).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct field investigations of ANE and injuries, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.
  • Perform comprehensive preliminary investigations to identify protection from harm and ensure reporting guidelines are followed.
  • Follow up on outstanding external cases, such as those through Health and Human Services Commission Provider Investigations (HHSCPI) and the Office of Inspector General (OIG).
  • Work collaboratively with Campus Administrators to ensure incidents are reported and investigated in a timely manner.
  • Verify information, collect and maintain evidence, data, and documents for use in investigations.
  • Review evidence and data gathered, drawing conclusions and evaluating findings.
  • Evaluate and summarize investigative findings, writing reports and presenting testimony and evidence at administrative hearings or in court proceedings.
  • Participate in daily meetings related to ANE, unusual incidents, peer-to-peer aggression, and falls, following up on identified issues.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and make recommendations for improvements to the designated supervisor.
  • Review policies, procedures, and regulations, recommending improvements, changes, or modifications.
  • Maintain, track, and analyze data for management reports, participating in audits and inspections as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws and ICF-IID rules, regulations, policy, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of investigative principles, techniques, and procedures.
  • Skills in interviewing and negotiation techniques, searching records, and formulating comprehensive investigative reports.
  • Ability to convey thoughts, actions, and reasons, to explain events leading up to incidents.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interview witnesses with varying emotional, educational, cultural, and social classes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other investigators or investigative entities.
