About the Role
The ASPCA seeks a highly skilled Veterinarian to join its Community Medicine team. As a Veterinarian, Public Animal Health Specialist, you will provide expert veterinary care to support the welfare of animals and their people in underserved communities across New York City.

Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, quality preventive and basic care to patients, overseeing all aspects of veterinary care during a clinic day
- Perform pre-surgery physical examinations on surgical candidates
- Diagnose and treat post-surgical medical complications
- Communicate with clients in a non-judgemental, effective and professional manner
- Document exam findings, test results and treatment recommendations according to ASPCA guidelines

Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (or equivalent)
- Current veterinary licensure in state(s) of selected location(s), or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment
- Fear Free certification is required within 60 days of hire
- Ability to efficiently perform physical examinations, outpatient surgical procedures and diagnose and treat cats and dogs
