Job Summary

Eden Health is seeking a skilled Hospice Bereavement Counselor/Chaplain to provide spiritual and emotional care to terminally ill patients and their families. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in English and work with people of various religious faiths and cultures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform spiritual assessments on Agency patients and act as a liaison between the Agency and the spiritual community.
  • Respond to the mental, spiritual, social, and emotional needs of terminally ill patients and their families, providing non-denominational spiritual counseling as requested.
  • Develop and oversee current bereavement programs, including social activities and workshops, to support patients and families in their grief journey.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care and support to patients and families.
  • Provide emotional support through discussion of spiritual and existential issues, assist families in understanding the grief process, and offer referrals to community grief support groups.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in ministry, counseling, or social work, with Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) training preferred.
  • Certification in a relevant field, such as APC, NACC, AAPC, NAJC, HCMA, or NAVAC.
  • Two years of full-time experience in bereavement counseling within the last three years, with a valid state driver's license and reliable automobile.
  • Current health certificate/physical examination and TB testing.
