Job Title: Evening and Overnight Relief Residential Counselor

Pine Street Inn is seeking a qualified Evening and Overnight Relief Residential Counselor to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Evening and Overnight Relief Residential Counselor will provide support and assistance to participants in our residential programs, ensuring their safety and well-being. This role requires a strong understanding of human services and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist participants with daily living skills, including meal preparation and leisure activities
  • Work collaboratively with other staff to create a respectful and empowering atmosphere
  • Respond to emergency situations and provide crisis intervention as needed
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for participants
  • Document participant progress and provide regular updates to team members
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Some basic human services training
  • Minimum of six months experience working in a shelter setting, community residence, or inpatient setting
  • Experience maintaining a safe environment for clients in a program setting
  • Ability to respond to individuals in crisis and provide effective support
  • Ability to climb multiple sets of stairs quickly and frequently
  • Ability to assist participants with daily living skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced training in human services work
  • Training in Motivational Interviewing and Trauma-Informed Care
  • Previous experience working with a Housing First/Safe Haven model
  • Experience working with the homeless population
