SUPERVISION:

POSITION SUMMARY:
The teacher specializing in moderate needs (LD) will utilize effective instructional strategies to ensure student achievement and enhance an outstanding educational experience that supports success for all learners. This role involves fostering positive relationships within the community and among school stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Possess a strong understanding of content areas, instructional strategies, learning preferences, and educational research relevant to students with diverse special needs.
- Exhibit knowledge of the structure and progression of a special education curriculum.
- Demonstrate exceptional classroom management, communication, organizational, and planning abilities.
- Experience in creating and executing individualized education programs (IEPs).
- Familiarity with both formal and informal assessments for students facing various learning challenges.
- Show proficiency in literacy and numeracy intervention strategies.
- Experience in administering and interpreting standardized and informal assessments in special education.
- Exhibit problem-solving capabilities through collaborative efforts with students, educators, parents, and administrators.
- Engage collaboratively in teaching teams to develop curriculum and assessments.
- Manage student cases effectively, ensuring regular communication with parents and faculty.
- Align curriculum and assessments with Colorado Content Standards.
- Make a positive impact on student achievement and differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs through targeted programs.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
The Cherry Creek School District adheres to the regulations established by the Colorado Department of Education regarding the hiring of candidates who are CURRENTLY LICENSED OR ENDORSED IN THE RELEVANT CONTENT AREA(S)
- Possess a valid Colorado Teaching License.
- Demonstrate proficiency in technology usage.
