Job Summary

We are seeking two mid-level structural designers to join our team. As a structural designer, you will play a critical role in developing custom enclosure systems that meet our customers' unique needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze documentation and company procedural manuals to determine critical parameters of design.
  • Identify factors affecting project design and collaborate with the Estimator to ensure accurate information.
  • Develop designs using knowledge of manufacturing methods, materials, and conferring with other departments to ensure integrity and manufacturability.
  • Draft Solidworks 3D models, required drawings, and analyze data to determine changes/modifications needed.
  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of models/drawings and ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Research and apply applicable building codes as necessary.
  • Coordinate with electrical designer counterparts to finalize designs.
  • Forward drawings to engineers for preliminary review and approval, making changes and corrections as needed.
  • Notify the project team of any updates needed to the bill of material as drawings are developed.
  • Ensure accuracy of work by checking dimensions, materials, and relationships between parts.
  • Communicate with staff members in engineering, production, and management to ensure designs meet customer expectations.
  • Work with manufacturing staff to interpret designs, answer questions, and make redlines as needed.
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Engineering required.
  • Experience designing structural and steel products.
  • Knowledge of power transformers, distribution panels, transfer switches, etc. a plus.
  • Exceptional computer skills.
  • Three years' experience using Computer Aided Design software.
  • Two years' experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D solid modeling software.
  • Strong math skills and ability to perform structural calculations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
