Position Overview

The Corix team is seeking a Water and Wastewater Treatment Operator. In this role, you will work under direct supervision, performing routine operations related to water and wastewater treatment facilities. You will assist in ensuring compliance with environmental standards and maintain the cleanliness of facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain water and wastewater treatment systems, ensuring adherence to environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct repairs on equipment and manage shutdowns for maintenance, coordinating with external vendors for major repairs.
  • Assist in emergency procedures for chemical spills or overflow situations, following established safety protocols.
  • Maintain logs and reports on meter readings, tests, and equipment usage, ensuring compliance with state requirements.
  • Clean and maintain treatment facilities, including pumping stations and wells.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by reporting safety concerns to management.
  • Conduct inspections of facilities and vehicles, following up on any issues identified.
  • Direct customer inquiries to appropriate personnel.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of mechanical experience required.
  • High school diploma and ability to obtain a First-Level operator license within one year of employment; a valid driver's license is necessary.
  • Preferred: First-level operator license and experience in chemical treatment of water or wastewater.

Skills Required

  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and mechanical repairs.
  • Proficient in reading meters and maintaining accurate operational records.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Capable of analyzing data and performing necessary calculations for chemical treatment.
  • Familiarity with computer applications and ability to learn internal software.

Work Environment

  • Availability for after-hours and weekend on-call support may be necessary.
  • Some travel within service areas may be required.
  • Shift work and weekend scheduling may be part of the role.
