We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated CT Technologist I to join our team at Houston Methodist West Hospital. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of routine diagnostic computed tomography (CT) procedures, including common and special CT exams of moderate complexity.
Key Responsibilities- Assist physicians with diagnostic and special CT procedures, providing direct support and ensuring optimal patient care.
- Deliver exceptional patient care, adhering to radiation standards and guidelines established by governing agencies to ensure patient safety and customer service.
- Collaborate with the patient care team to promote a positive work environment and contribute to a dynamic, team-focused work unit.
- Use peer-to-peer accountability to drive department goals for retention and employee engagement.
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and colleagues to facilitate providing the highest quality service during every customer and patient encounter.
- Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated below.
- CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist - State Licensure OR CMRT-Temp - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist - Temporary State Licensure AND BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA) AND American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in Radiography (ARRT (R)) or Radiation Therapy (ARRT (T)) or Nuclear Medicine (ARRT (N)) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification (CNMT) and American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in CT (ARRT (CT)) within 6 months OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in Radiography (ARRT (R)) or Radiation Therapy (ARRT (T)) or Nuclear Medicine (ARRT (N)) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification (CNMT) and American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in CT (ARRT (CT)) by the end of the month following 12 months of hire.
- Demonstrated skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job, determined through on-going skills, competency assessments, and performance evaluations.
- Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job, especially with regard to activities impacting patient or employee safety or security.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members, and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles.
