Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team at United Cerebral Palsy of Georgia.

About the Role:

As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing direct support, supervision, and training for individuals with disabilities residing in our residential facility. Your primary responsibilities will include feeding, bathing, dressing, and assisting with mobility, as well as maintaining daily records in Therap.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide transportation and supervision for individuals to meet employment, recreational, and leisure activities.
  • Inspect vans and ensure safe transport protocols are followed, including tie-downs and seat belt usage.
  • Perform housekeeping duties, including kitchens, bathrooms, windows, bedrooms, and floors.
  • Maintain high standards in meal preparation and management, adhering to individual healthcare plans and guidelines for safe food handling.
  • Offer personal care support, including changing, dressing, and other ADLs.
  • Complete all documentation and notes as required using Therap and other programs.
  • Evaluate progress and ensure goals are being met according to each individual's ISP.
  • Conduct evacuation drills and record results.
  • Assist in planning and facilitating person-centered outings.
  • Complete behavioral tracking logs as needed.
  • Adhere to agency, state, and federal laws and policies, utilizing PolicyStat as necessary.
  • Participate in required training and development opportunities through Relias.
  • Manage medical emergencies according to health service plans, attending doctor's appointments and transporting residents as requested.
  • Report maintenance issues to supervisors or NetFacilities.
  • Punctually report to work and adhere to assigned shift schedules.
  • Administer medications according to MAR entries and track vital signs and health-related information for residents.

Benefits and Requirements:

This is a rewarding opportunity with a competitive salary range of $40,000-$60,000 annually, depending on experience. We offer flexible scheduling, free medical coverage, and paid training. To be considered, applicants must have a valid driver's license, CPR/FA certification, and CPI certification. Please note that this position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds with accommodations.
