Job Summary

Loomis US is seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of vehicles.

Responsibilities
  • Perform Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance tasks on our vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Diagnose and Repair Issues: Use your technical skills to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems on our vehicles.
  • Document Work: Accurately document all maintenance and repair work performed on our vehicles using our maintenance software program.
  • Inventory and Order Parts: Perform inventory and order parts, supplies, as needed to ensure our vehicles are properly maintained.
  • Maintain a Clean and Safe Work Environment: Ensure our work area is clean and safe for our team members.
Requirements
  • Operational Knowledge: Required operational knowledge of diesel equipment and tools normally associated with the troubleshooting and repairs of gasoline and diesel truck equipment.
  • Preferred Knowledge: Knowledge of International Maxx force and Cummins diesel medium-duty trucks as well as Ford gas and diesel engines is preferred but not required.
  • Technical Skills: Must be able to accurately perform preventive maintenance to fleet vehicles, have the ability to identify component failures, worn or damaged parts, diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle systems, and produce quality repairs.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to read and understand technical service manuals, repair orders, labels, and gauges.
  • Physical Demands: Must possess a valid driver's license (C or better) and meet qualifications as outlined in section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations.
  • Physical Abilities: Unrestricted ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, squat, lift (up to 50 lbs.), push, pull, climb, and lie on back in a horizontal position for prolonged periods of time.
  • Work Environment: Ability to hoist any size vehicle with lift device (vehicle jack) using foot and arm pumping motion.
  • Work Schedule: Full-time schedule consists of a minimum 40-hour work week.
  • Certifications: Must meet DOT standards to achieve brake and annual inspection certifications. A minimum of 1 year experience or a certificate from an approved training program.
  • Tools and Equipment: Basic hand tools required.
  • Certifications: ASE or manufacture certification is a plus.
