Precision Pumping Systems is currently looking for a Logistics Support Specialist.

Position Summary:

The Logistics Support Specialist will undertake essential tasks to ensure seamless production operations, meeting both customer expectations and production timelines. This role involves facilitating daily production requirements and ensuring timely procurement and delivery of materials from various suppliers and custom locations. The position requires both independence and teamwork, adhering to established work methods while promoting safe working practices.

Key Responsibilities:

The Logistics Support Specialist will be responsible for driving to various vendor and custom locations to gather materials essential for production. This role primarily involves acting as a production runner/delivery driver while also assisting the production team with additional tasks as necessary.

Vehicle Operations:

  • Selecting the appropriate vehicle for each task.
  • Organizing and maintaining tie-down equipment.
  • Conducting routine tire pressure checks and assessing tire condition.
  • Monitoring vehicle status and reporting any maintenance issues.
  • Ensuring vehicle cleanliness after each use.

Trailer Management:

  • Choosing the correct trailer based on the load requirements.
  • Selecting the appropriate hitch adapter for the chosen trailer.
  • Performing routine inspections of trailers to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Adjusting hitch positions and leveling trailers before transporting materials.

Materials Handling:

  • Verifying proper packaging of items for transport.
  • Correctly sizing loading and unloading equipment.
  • Ensuring load balance and weight distribution for safe transport.
  • Selecting the right tie-down equipment and determining the necessary quantity and size.
  • Securing all loads for transport and conducting final inspections for loose items.
  • Utilizing our operating system for receiving and inspecting items.
  • Performing quality checks upon receipt to identify any potential damage or discrepancies.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience driving a one-ton pickup and 20' or longer trailer or equivalent.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid US Driver's License.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Experience with hand and power tools.
  • Basic computer proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Forklift operation experience is preferred.
  • CDL certification is a plus.
  • Strong communication and follow-through skills.
  • Experience in organization, cleanliness, and attention to detail.
  • Able to navigate unfamiliar roads while driving.
  • Excellence in coordinating logistics and details.

Job Type: This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with working hours from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
